Siding, Insulation, and Concrete
Another busy Monday at the house! The siding crew came out and started putting up the siding. It is primed at the factory, and will be painted once it is all hung/caulked, etc. The siding is a type of fiber cement, similar to what we used with our last house. The concrete guys came out and poured the floor for the main garage, as well as the front "porch". It's really too small to be called a porch, but it'll be the landing from the front door, leading down some slate/stone steps to a sidewalk. And the insulators came out and hung the batting/traditional batting. We are on for an insulation inspection tomorrow, and the dry wallers are on stand-by - ready to come hang drywall asap. We are hoping to have the base cabinets installed in the kitchen on Saturday, so that on Monday, the granite company can come out and get a template for our granite slab. It's getting there...slowly, but surely...

3rd PHOTO: Concrete slab at the bottom of the future steps leading from the front door. Chris added the kids' initials to the concrete while it was still wet. Sweet gesture. (yes, it will be covered...)
